The next task we were given was to create a full bleed A3 editorial illustration, after chosing an article to work from. I chose the article titled; "I too have shot a stag, but the emporer killer still appals me". This article is all about the mysterious shooting of Britains largest recored stag which resided in Devon, it's antlers reaching up to 9ft from the ground. A powerful, majestic creature, killed in the night, by a huntsman that still remains unknown, the article talks about the publicity brought to the huntsman, straight after the press attention that the stag itself recieved.
I started on this project by researching illustration styles and the article, and experimenting with different styles and layouts from thumbnails. After having a group tutorial and recieveing feedback from already completed work, i chose to take a less detailed image, and work with key colour, calligraphy, and shape rather than focus on intrcacy.
